Elton Chong is surely one of the unsung figures of martial arts cinema. A kung fu
wildman in the tradition of.. well, no one, Elton's on screen antics are so uniquely bizarre
that it would take a filmmaker like Godfrey Ho to give him a venue for his brand of acting.
A cheeky chap with a talent for being highly irritating and provoking nearly everyone he
encounters, Chong is nothing if not a character. Yet in his films he clearly demonstrates
an athletic prowess in both fighting and stuntwork that justify his clownish and
meddlesome behavior, with an intensity characteristic of the best kung fu stars.
