(Chan Nga Lun, Chan Ar Lun, Chan Ah Lun)
Actress
Born: February 16, 1966- Hong Kong
Hong Kong born Ellen Chan began her career as a singer after winning a Hong Kong
new talent contest. Then she had a television contract with TVB, and made her first film
in 1986, Grow Up in Anger.
Lau Kar Leung cast her as Sam Hui's secretary in Aces Go Places V and as a
troublesome prostitute in the sequel to Tiger on the Beat. She also played a call girl
and Max Mok's lover in the 1990 triad drama Lung Fung Restaurant and a sensuous
vampire in 1991's Doctor Vampire.
In 1993, she added nudity to her repertoire by releasing an erotic photo album and
maximized her sexy image by starring in two Category III shockers- Fatal Love with
Michael Wong and The Love That is Wrong. While neither role cemented her
position as a leading actress, she made one more Category III picture- The Eternal
Evil of Asia (1995), after which she spent the next several years acting in Mainland
television serials. She has also opened a restaurant in Macau and is mounting
her movie comeback.
