Danny Chan Kwok Kwan got his big break when Stephen Chow cast him as the
goalie of the Shaolin team in the highest grossing film in HK history- Shaolin Soccer.
The casting choice was actually a happy accident, as Chan was originally hired to
choreograph a dance sequence (which was ultimately cut but is presented on the DVD).
Stephen Chow's concept for Chan's character was unique- Chan would wear the yellow
tracksuit from Game of Death and conjure the spirit of Bruce Lee.
The idea was a stroke of genius on Chow's part, and was a natural fit for Danny Chan, who
has since been seen in the many commercials and festivities surrounding the film,
including an appearance on the Shaolin Soccer edition of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.
